Flexible childcare outside TUM

If a child becomes ill, the Zuhause gesund werden e.V. association arranges voluntary and flexible assistants at short notice who care for the child in the familiar surroundings of their own home.

The Netzwerk Geburt und Familie e.V. association provides a mobile care service. It includes childcare and home help for families in Munich, for example mothers who are pregnant for a second time or for if a parent falls ill.

Leihomaservice München is a “rent-a-grandmother” scheme with experienced child-minders who can work flexible hours. There is a similar scheme for grandfathers called Oma-Opa-Service offered by the Evangelical-Lutheran deanery of Munich.

Some Eltern-Kind-Zentren, in addition to their open café get-togethers and playgroups, also offer flexible childcare or mini-childcare centers with supervision provided at most once a week.

Café Zuckertag provides by-the-hour childcare in Munich-Haidhausen, a variety of courses and a well-equipped playroom.

In the baby room of this midwives’ practice, pediatric nurses and nursery teachers will provide flexible care for your infant by prior appointment.

If the child-minder is unavailable, the emergency network (Notnetz) of the child-minders’ association can provide cover for working or single parents. Mobile child-minders can look after children in the familiar surroundings of their own home.

Münchner Kindl provides flexible childcare by appointment over the phone at least one day in advance. The facility looks after a mixed-age group of up to twenty-two children aged between 1 and 13.

The Isar-Mami blog provides information on child-friendly playgrounds, destinations for outings and the names of cafés and restaurants with play corners or flexible child supervision.

The Nachbarschaftshilfe Garching association arranges voluntary assistants for parents who are under pressure. The volunteers provide housework and childcare support.
